Course Description

eNext ICU provides Clinical Observership Programme in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, Haryana.

This program is offered in 5 main streams:

  1. Medical ICU

  2. Liver/Kidney Transplant

  3. Neurosciences & Neurotrauma

  4. Cardiac ICU

  5. Acute care surgery & Trauma ICU

The Department of Critical Care Team

The department provides comprehensive and advanced care to the sickest of patients. It has been handling cases related to multiple sub specialities and is aided in it by cutting edge technology and modalities like Mechanical Ventilator, ECMO, Advanced Hemodynamic monitoring, EMS systems etc

Our consultants are all certified by the appropriate boards and societies like the National /board of Examinations (NBE), European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), and Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) etc. Apart from clinical work, they are involved in research and training programmes. Trainings are not only limited to the regular fellowship students but also involves regular simulation based courses for doctors and nurses.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. National medical students, residents, or fellows (trainees) enrolled in any training program who are actively supported for this observership by their training institution and who will be returning to that institution after the observership.

  2. National physicians who are employed in their profession and care for critically ill patients and who will be returning to that position immediately following observership.

  3. The applicant must provide a curriculum vitae (CV). 

Requirements:

  1. All applicants will be interviewed by video conference. 

  2. Once join, they will be offered the option of night shifts too with the team.

  3. They can participate in resident classes whichever will be held during their tenure. 

  4. They can freely interact with the faculty and residents.

  5. They will have to make arrangements for boarding, meals, and transit in your own capacity.

  6. They will not be able to do any procedures, paperwork, etc. but can freely observe patients and procedures.

Advantages to the students

1. The observers will be exposed to all variety of cases in the medical, Surgical, Transplant, cardiac and cardiothoracic, BMT and Acute Care ICUs.

2. All high end support systems and procedures can be observed like ECMO, IABP, Bronchoscopy, and Percutaneous Tracheostomies; advanced hemodynamic monitoring.

3. ICU protocols, Infection control protocols, ICU organization will be taught and can also be seen hands-on.

4. Candidates will be a part of the grand rounds and classes of the regular fellows of the department.

5. Dedicated one to one interaction with the faculty.
